For Executives

The rise of the Internet and a growing demand for personal engagement have ended forever the days of “one company, one spokesperson.” To keep your company from becoming just another indifferent and distant institution in the eyes of the public, you need excellent spokespeople in every part of your organization.

Think of the ways you and your colleagues speak for your company each day: with the media, certainly, but also with government officials, bloggers, competitors, customers, and suppliers, not to mention friends, family, and teachers, all of whom have the ability to influence the way people think and talk about your company.

WGA offers a series of carefully designed training programs that we customize for each client, designed to help turn your colleagues into superb spokespeople regardless of the setting.

EC-100  Senior Spokesperson Training – Designed for executives who are new to roles requiring them to serve as corporate spokespeople, this program provides executives with the tools and the confidence required to competently interact with media, analysts, bloggers and the public in one-on-one, small group, and surprise situations. (7 hours)

EC-101  Senior Spokesperson Advanced Training – For executives who have had some media training but who are either due for a refresher or who need an upgrade of skills to meet the challenge of a new position. The focus of the advanced program is to move from competence in spokesperson situations to comfort even in frequent or repetitive high-stress encounters. Emphasis is placed on the skills and preparation required to make the executive a proactive communicator, and even a “thought leader.” (7 hours)

EC-103  Senior Spokesperson Interview Workshop – For executives requiring extra coaching and practice in applying core spokesperson techniques, this workshop consists of a full-day or a half-day of scenarios and role plays designed to hone the skills in a supportive yet realistic setting. (4 hours or 7 hours)

EC-107  Executive Public Relations Orientation – An introduction to the public relations function and the role a senior executive plays in corporate communications. Designed for executives who oversee the public relations function in their division or geographic area. (2 hours)

EC-110  Introduction to Competitive Communications – A workshop for executives in the sales, marketing, or communications function that introduces ways to de-position the competition with a range of audiences, and demonstrates how to do so with grace and intelligence. (4 hours)

EC-132  Presentation Skills for Executives – A full-day program that focuses on building effective presentation skills, with a scenario focus either on public speaking or sales presentations. Designed for executives seeking greater comfort and effectiveness when speaking on behalf of the company.  (8 hours)

EC-133  Advanced Presentation Skills for Executives – Designed for the executives seeking or facing opportunities to speak in a high-profile public setting. Speaking in public remains mans’ greatest fear, so in addition to providing coaching on effective presentation skills, personal demeanour, and appearance, the program also provides instruction on the best use of slides, how to do without them, and overcoming nervousness before and during the speech. (8 hours)
